The Mechanical Systems Center (MSC) is one of the components of the Applied Research and Development Organization (ARDO). MSC is specialized in transforming the designs of the other ARDO centers into reality using various manufacturing techniques, such as sand and precision casting, turning, milling and metal cutting using various technologies, including water jet, wire cut and electric discharge, forming, welding and heat treatments techniques. In addition, conducting some research projects participating to develop the research capacity of the apparatus.

  • Localization of advanced technologies associated with the defensive and civilian industries related to prototypes and batch production.
  • Training and qualification of national cadres on advanced technologies.
  • The use of reverse engineering in the field of defensive and civil industries.
  • Preparing the executive programs of the approved production plan, following up its implementation on an ongoing basis and contributing to solving the problems that impede its implementation.
  • Conducting research and studies in the field of advanced manufacturing technologies and advanced materials such as special alloys, composite materials, plasma coating, metal forming and welding.
  • Cooperation with local and Foreign research production institutions in conducting joint research and studies to exploit the possibilities available at the center.
  • Work on creating an integrated scientific information base for everything that falls within the center's competencies.
  • Metal cutting and preparation works (chainsaw cutting, shear cutting of various sizes, wire cutting, electric discharge cutting, and water jet cutting).
  • Mechanical works are conventional and programmed (turning - milling - surface and cylindrical grinding - perforation).
  • Forming and welding of all kinds (presses - bending machines – welding technologies such as electrodes, TIG, MiG and automatic welding).
  • Sand and Precision castings for cast iron, stainless steel and aluminum as well as performing various heat treatment processes of metals used in the production of prototypes using sand and wax plumbing of cast iron, stainless steel and aluminum in a batch production.
  • Plasma coating (Plasma) and coating using high-speed oxygen fuel (HVOF).
  • Composite materials and thermal insulators (phenolic).
  • Production of prototype components and the integrated model of mechanical products according to the required specifications.
