ARDO is a government owned institution under the ministry of defense of the Libyan state.
The message of ARDO is to build a sustainable research base in the field of defense technologies. It also works on developing policies and programs in the defense field by sponsoring and supporting all interested scientific cadres working in the same field.
Ardo is also performs the following:
- Conducting research in the fields of aeronautics and space science.
- Conducting research in the field of unconventional weapons.
- Conducting research to develop and upgrade different military equipment for different forces (land, sea, air).
- Work on technology transfer through collaborations with similar international institutions.
- Develop and improve performance of all researchers which includes awareness required skills and motivation.
ARDO aims to build and form an effective knowledge, scientific and technical base that contributes to developing the national capabilities of the Libyan army and meeting its technical needs and expectations.
To provide the technical assistance, maintenance and consultancy services to difference sectors of the Libyan army forces.
